Child Care Officer at Langham Oaks School

Salary: LGPS Scale 6 points 13 - 17 (£25,590.20 to £27,341.18 actual salary) depending on experience

Are you looking for a new challenge?

Would you like to work with friendly, supportive colleagues in a brand-new building set in beautiful village surroundings near to Colchester?

At this already exciting time, we now find ourselves with a rare opportunity for the right person to join our Team as part of Langham Oaks' 'Residential Family'.  The Residential Family comprises a small group of staff who are dedicated to ensuring that students leave Langham ready and well-equipped for the next stage of their journeys.  The work is challenging, but highly rewarding and, as Langham Oaks is part of the SEAX Trust, you will be supported not only by the knowledge and expertise of your colleagues, but also by the staff in the Trust's Central Team.

Langham Oaks is set in the quiet village of Langham, near Colchester, and is a school for boys, providing a very special type of education to 80 students who have social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties.  It is part-residential and places are available for some of the boys who wish to stay for all or part of the week between Monday and Thursday.

In October 2020, the school moved into to a brand-new purpose-built provision within its existing grounds.  This means that all of the estate buildings and facilities are less than 5 years old and provide wonderful facilities for its staff and pupils.

Working at Langham Oaks is highly rewarding and we can offer you:

·         Up to 27 days* paid annual leave (*from 24 to 27 days, depending on length of service)

·         A range of high-quality professional development opportunities

·         A career pathway including internal career progression opportunities

·         Local Government Pension Scheme facilities

·         A varied and challenging role rewarded by financial recognition of achievement

·         A fair work-life balance, employee assistance programme and commitment to staff wellbeing

·         A firm commitment to equality and diversity

·         A strong sense of cohesion and belonging
